Rachael Nicholson

Rachael Nicholson, Trustee

In Rachael’s previous employment for Action on Elder Abuse she established the charity arm in Wales. In this role Rachael developed partnerships to inform policy, delivered high impact campaigns, provided training on the impact of abuse, and secured funding to set up the Wales helpline, providing direct support to older people and their families.

Other career highlights include working with LGBT charity, Stonewall Cymru and managing the information service volunteers. Rachael also volunteered with Time to Change Wales, delivering training on the stigma and discrimination faced by people with a mental health diagnosis.

Rachael is a qualified probation officer, with a degree in French studies, and now works as a freelance trainer and facilitator focussed on inclusive practice and social change.

In her spare time Rachael enjoys learning languages, (and the chance to use them!), and is writing her third novel. Rachael is excited to join the Age Connects Morgannwg board, supporting their mission of delivering impactful services and putting older people at the heart of the charity.
