About Us

"Thank you Kay so very much for the support you’ve given me. Until recently, I had no idea about the service Age Connects Morgannwg provides. It’s taken away any worries I had. I’ve enjoyed the chats and smiles we’ve shared. From your first visit I feel so much stronger and have become a very independent person now. Thank you Kay and thank you Age Connects Morgannwg."
MRS HB, Merthyr Tydfil

Age Connects Morgannwg is the operating title of Age Concern Morgannwg, a charity for older people living in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil. We work to get older people the help they want, when they want it. We strive to ensure that those who are vulnerable and at risk are kept safe. We empower older people to be heard and to have choice and control, so they don’t feel isolated or discriminated against, and they receive the support and services they need. Our work is driven by what older people say matters most to them. Their voices are at the heart of all that we do.

Our Work

Our History
Since 1977, Age Concern Morgannwg has been here to help and support older people through some of the most difficult times in their life. Over the years, many thousands of people living in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil and Bridgend have found companionship, laughter, new interests and a listening ear in the staff and volunteers who are the beating heart of this charity.

Some people come to us when they’re not sure where to turn. They may be recovering from illness or bereavement, they may be facing or experiencing redundancy from a job they love and have enjoyed for many years. They may be worried about their finances or struggling to cope in any one or a dozen of ways. At Age Concern Morgannwg they found practical help, professional advice, a degree of dependability and a continuity of service and support that isn’t available anywhere else. They find people who care about the challenges they face. They find help.

Age Connects Morgannwg is no different. We are the same charity, with the same great staff and volunteers, only our name has changed.
Our Future
Age Connects Morgannwg is the operating title of Age Concern Morgannwg. We are an independent local charity and not for profit company that has existed since 1977 to serve the people of Rhondda Cynon Taff, Merthyr Tydfil and Bridgend.

We are committed to serving older people, connecting people and communities. We want people to know that when they support us with donations or legacies, every penny of that money will remain in the local community and will be spent helping local people. We believe we have a strong history and a bright future.

We offer a wide range of services to help older people stay living in their own home, and make life as easy as possible. Our dedicated staff and volunteer team offer independent and confidential information, advice and support on a variety issues such as care, legal, health, housing, income and benefits, consumer, leisure, learning and work.
