Look after your loved ones with a professionally written Will
A Will is a legal document that sets out instructions for who will inherit your estate and what should happen after you die.
It includes what sort of funeral you would like, how you would like your assets to be distributed, as well as other wishes, like who should look after your pets, if you have them.
Sometimes known as your last Will and Testament, it's a legally binding document, but if you don't prepare it properly it could be invalid. That is why we recommend using a professional Estate Planner to write your Will.
There are many reasons why writing a will should be a priority:
If you die without a Will what you leave becomes subject to intestacy laws. These are designed to help decide who’s entitled to your estate under the rules of intestacy. This means that your estate may not pass to the people you want to benefit. For example, if you were married or had a civil partner, there’s no guarantee your children or grandchildren would receive anything.
If you’re not married or in a civil partnership and your partner dies, you will not be automatically able to inherit anything. The same applies if your relationship to the deceased was that of a friend, carer or relative by marriage. Writing a Will ends this uncertainty and ensures your wishes are carried out.
Writing a Will needn’t be a difficult or expensive job. Our Estate Planning partner will listen to your requirements and draft a legally compliant document for you to review. You can also update an existing Will to ensure it reflects your current wishes.
