Money Matters

Money Matters

Each year, millions of pounds of benefits go unclaimed by older people – could you be entitled to more than you’re getting?

We want to help you receive the money you’re entitled to, so our teams are fully trained to provide high quality welfare benefits advice and support on a wide range of benefits including:

  • Attendance Allowance
  • Council Tax/Housing Benefit
  • Social Fund
  • Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Carer’s Allowance
  • Blue Badge and Pension Credit applications
  • Universal Credit

The money raised can make all the difference to your life. It can help you pay for care, additional support at home or outdoors or meet the rising cost of energy bills. It can go towards healthy nutritious food, or simply help make ends meet. Our budgeting plan can help you make the most of the extra money you get and identify where you may be spending too much on utilities and services, etc. The additional income raised also contributes to the local economy.

We work closely with the Citizens Advice on debt management issues.

We can help you access on-line deals to make your money go further and introduce you to other services such as Care & Repair , who can advise you on maintaining your home and accessing small repair or adaptation grants.

“It’s a brilliant service, I couldn’t fill out these long forms on my own and now have been awarded Attendance Allowance which will help me in my day to day life”

Mrs T, Ynysybwl

If you think you might be entitled to one of these benefits or if you’d just like to talk about making the most of your money, we can help.
