Age Connects Morgannwg have launched an appeal to support our fight against loneliness, we are asking those who can afford it to donate £5 to the appeal. Every donation we receive makes a difference, allowing us to make two home visits to an older person.

We were recently contacted by Margaret who wanted to thank our Support Worker Andrea for the support she had provided to her husband Fred through our Better@Home scheme.

The six local, independent charities that make up Age Connects Wales are thanking all of our amazing volunteers all over Wales . Hundreds of volunteers working with us to support older people living in our communities who are often facing the devastating effects of loneliness and isolation with no family or friends to turn to.

ACM conducted a transport survey to understand why we were frequently receiving requests for help to get people to and from appointments. We also wanted to identify any barriers that might be stopping people from using existing transport provision.

A Christmas card appeal organised by ACM is catching the public’s imagination, after posts on social media were shared more than 700 times, reaching over 100,000 people across the world.

In this ACM blog we look at three case studies illustrating some of the invaluable work done by one of our case workers through the Hospital Discharge Service and highlighting the benefits that arise from developing trusted relationships.

With cost-of-living increases hitting record levels and more families finding themselves living in fuel poverty, we are going to help people live well for less through a series of information roadshows. We have created the Living Well for Less roadshows as a direct response to the pressures caused by increases to energy prices, food, and petrol, as well as the ongoing impact of the pandemic.
