Karen has a BA in Youth and Community Studies and joined us from a 20 year spell with Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council, where she worked in role for both Communities First and Childrens / Youth services. 

Karen manages Ages Connects Morgannwg's flagship community hub, Cynon Linc. This includes managing all aspects of the hub, from room bookings, the Hyb restaurant, Little Lincs and fundraising to ensure continual growth. 

Karen's previous roles include working for the NHS in Cardiff’s University Hospital of Wales in both New Appointment Co-ordination and the Rapid Access Breast Clinics. Karen organised appointments and communicating with consultants and surgeries to ensure the best care for the patients;. She also worked in an office of a local nursing home managing wages, patient communication and devising rotas for staff and a local GP’s surgery as a senior receptionist. 

Karen has lived  in Aberdare since birth and enjoys working within the community in which she lives. She has 1 daughter and 2 grandchildren who keep her busy in her spare time!
